NEW DELHI: A group of youths placed wooden logs and cement pillars on the railway track to block a Vande Bharat train. The incident came to light after the footage of the incident went viral on social media. The train was stopped halfway after seeing obstacles on the track, thus averting a major accident.

In the video footage, youths can be seen removing wooden logs and placing cement pillars on the track. The incident took place just after the country's first Vande Bharat sleeper train started service on the Kolkata-Guwahati route.

There is a huge outcry on social media against the actions of the youths, which can lead to train derailments and major accidents. As soon as the video was posted online, users started tagging railway officials and the Union Railway Minister. Many expressed anger and concern, pointing out the serious risk faced by passengers.

“Stopping Vande Bharat and jeopardising the lives of passengers by placing wooden logs for making reels should be treated as an act of terrorism. Request Rail Minister and Railway Police Force to arrest them all and coordinate with the state government to invoke NSA against them," one netizen wrote.

The Railway Police has started an investigation into the incident. The authorities are trying to find the culprits by examining the video footage. The authorities have said that strict action will be taken under the Railway Act against those involved in such activities that pose a threat to the safety of passengers.
