Amit Shah's warning to Tamilisai Soundarrajan goes viral, sparks controversy in Tamil Nadu politics

MACHILIPATNAM: Footage of the conversation between Amit Shah and BJP leader Tamilisai Soundarrajan before the swearing-in of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh is out. In the footage, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is seen calling former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan back and warning her. The video footage of publicly warning Tamilisai is now viral on social media.

In the video, it is seen that Amit Shah speaks in a body language of warning calling back Tamilisai, who had greeted former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Amit Shah. When Tamilisai responds, Amit Shah expresses disagreement.

In the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, there was a vote movement in many places, but the BJP could not win anywhere. The conflict between the factions of President K. Annamalai and Tamilisai Soundarrajan is also raging in the state. Many people are raising doubts whether Amit Shah's warning was related to this. DMK has responded to the controversy. 'What kind of politics is this? Is it polite for Amit Shah to publicly rebuke a prominent woman politician in Tamil Nadu? This is a very wrong model,' DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai said.

A section of the party has argued that the relationship with BJP has broken down because of the party's state president Annamalai's behaviour towards the AIDMK. A section says that if the AIDMK-BJP tie-up had continued, it could have won 35 seats. This is the opinion of Tamilisai too. This infuriated the Annamalai supporters and they abused Tamilisai on social media. Tamilisai moved legally against this.
