Blast at firecracker manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu; 8 people dead, multiple casualties

CHENNAI: Eight people were killed in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Many people were injured. The injured were admitted to the district hospital. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire is unclear. It is reported that 25 people were working there when the accident took place. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
