SHIMLA: Some teachers put scorpion in the pants of a Dalit student. The incident happened in a government school at Khaddapani area in Rohru sub division of Shimla. The headmaster and other teachers harassed the boy of class one. He was also subjected to casteist slur.

The student's father said the teachers took his son to the school toilet and put the scorpion in his pants. On the family's complaint, the police have registered a case under various sections against the headmaster Devendra and teachers Baburam and Kritika Thakur. Sections of the SC/ST Act have also been charged for forcibly removing the student's clothes and subjecting him to acts of humiliation.

The complaint alleged that the teacher has been beating the child for a year. Once, during the beating, the child's ear bled and his eardrum was damaged. On October 30, the headmaster threatened to expel the child from the school.

The complaint said the family was threatened with being burned to death if they complained to the police or shared the matter on social media. The family also alleged that Dalit students were made to sit separately from Rajput students during meals. The boy’s father said Kritika Thakur's husband has been teaching in the school illegally for the past one year.
