MEERUT: Miscreants have killed a cop’s six-year-old son over ransom. The incident happened in Dhanpur village in Incholi Police Station jurisdiction at Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The miscreants murdered Puneeth, son of Gopal Yadav, a police constable of UP’s Saharanpur.
The constable’s son went missing Sunday morning at 8 am while playing outside his house. While a search was on to find the boy, his father got a ransom call demanding Rs 50 lakh. He immediately informed the station.
The body of the boy was found in a sugarcane field when the police were in search of the boy. His family alleged that the boy was murdered intentionally and that the ransom call was a drama.
Yadav’s family had a land dispute with another family. The boy’s family alleged that they had murdered the boy. The police have registered a case and an investigation has started. The police have detained four including two women of the area.
Meerut senior police superintendent Rohit Singh Sajwan said that the four are being interrogated and the reason for the murder will be known soon. The call received by Yadav will also be investigated.
