Covid cases rising in India, 1000 new cases in one week, Kerala leads

NEW DELHI: Reports say Covid cases are rising in India. 752 new cases have been reported in India in the last one week. 335 cases have been reported in Kerala. With this, the total number of active cases in the state has reached 430. Maharashtra reported 153 new cases and Delhi 99. Authorities have reported two new Covid variants in the country.


According to the data released by the government this morning, 83 cases were reported in Gujarat, 47 in Karnataka, 15 in Uttar Pradesh and 12 in West Bengal. The spread of the disease is more in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The report says that most of the cases in these places can be treated at home.

According to the union health ministry’s Covid-19 portal, ‘Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 430, followed by Maharashtra with 209, Delhi with 104, and Karnataka with 47. Some states like Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir currently have no active cases reported.’
