SRINAGAR: The demolition of houses of terrorists continues in Jammu and Kashmir. The house of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Farooq Ahmed was the latest to be demolished with a bomb. His house in Kupwara was demolished by the security forces and the local administration. It is learnt that he is currently with a terrorist group in Pakistan. The action of the security forces comes after the terrorists killed tourists in Pahalgam.
The district administration demolished five houses of terrorists in Kashmir yesterday. One house each in Shopian and Kulgam districts of Kashmir and three houses in Pulwama. The houses of senior Lashkar commander Shahid Ahmed Kutte in Shopian and terrorist Zahid Ahmed in Kulgam were demolished. The houses of Lashkar terrorists Ishan Ahmed Sheikh, Haris Ahmed and Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh were demolished in Pulwama the other day.
Security has been tightened in Kashmir in the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. It is likely that the security forces will demolish more terrorist houses in the coming days. 26 people have been officially confirmed dead in the terrorist attack. One of them is a foreigner. Several people are still undergoing treatment in the hospital after being injured in the attack.
The Pahalgam incident has also caused a major rift in relations between India and Pakistan. India had demanded that Pakistani citizens not be granted visas and that Pakistani citizens staying in India leave the country. Along with this, India had also taken steps to seal the border and cancel the Indus Water Treaty.
