NEW DELHI: The Indian intelligence agency has foiled a plan by Pakistan's spy agency ISI to carry out a major terrorist attack in India. Two including a Pakistani spy, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Ansurul Mia Ansari of Nepal and Ranchi native Akhlaq Azam were arrested. The charge sheet against them was filed in a Delhi court.
The terror attack plan was foiled during an investigation conducted following a tip-off received by the intelligence agency last January. The tip-off was that the Nepali was in India to collect some sensitive documents and images related to India and that he had links with Pakistan's spy agency. The investigation was then launched. Ansari was caught while trying to return to Pakistan with images and information of places including military bases. It was revealed that the person who provided the necessary assistance to him was a Ranchi native, and he was also arrested.
Ansari was earlier working as a taxi driver in Qatar. There, he was caught by the ISI. He was brought to Rawalpindi last year and then trained in espionage. It is reported that during the investigation conducted by the intelligence department in this incident, some information was also obtained regarding the Pakistan High Commission office in Delhi. It is reported that High Commission officials Muzammil and Danish are also linked to the terror attack plan. Earlier reports had also emerged that Danish is linked to the arrested Indian YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra. Jyoti had confessed to her Pakistani links during interrogation the other day.
