NEW DELHI: The interrogation of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay in connection with the Karur tragedy has been completed. The statement recording process, which began at 12 noon at the CBI headquarters in Delhi, was completed by 5 pm. Vijay was questioned by a three-member CBI team.

Vijay's statement has currently been recorded as a witness. It is reported that the investigation team asked the actor more than 35 questions. Vijay was accompanied by lawyers from the Supreme Court at the CBI headquarters. After recording the statement, it was given to Vijay for examination.

The CBI mainly asked questions about who were the organizers of the event in Karur, who was fully responsible for the event, and why Vijay was late for the event. Reports say that the CBI also raised tough questions about why Vijay continued his speech despite noticing that people were in danger and whether Vijay was late to show his own strength.

TVK party leaders N Anand, Aadav Arjuna and Nirmal Kumar were questioned twice earlier. Vijay appeared before the investigation team for questioning for the first time.

TVK had told the Supreme Court that it did not have faith in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the state government and requested that the case be handed over to the CBI. Considering this, the Supreme Court ordered a CBI investigation into the matter.

Vijay arrived in Delhi for questioning at around 10:30 am today. A large number of fans and TVK workers had gathered in front of the CBI headquarters to meet the star.
