AYODHYA: The district administration of Ayodhya has welcomed KFC, the world's leading brand of chicken dishes, to the district. However, the authorities have informed that KFC will be given permission to operate in the district only if they sell only vegetarian food items on the menu.
A recent report claimed that KFC has set up a unit on the Ayodhya-Lucknow highway since non-vegetarian food items are not allowed in Ayodhya. According to the report, officials in Ayodhya said that they are ready to give space to KFC in the city if they decide to sell only vegetarian items. Serving of alcohol and meat has been banned within a 15-km radius of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
According to officials, various companies are approaching with plans to open new stores in Ayodhya and they are being accepted wholeheartedly. However, there is a condition that only vegetarian food items should be sold, say officials.
