KARACHI: Pakistan has labelled the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack as freedom fighters. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar
described the terrorists as freedom fighters in a press meet convened. It is noteworthy that Dar's remarks came while Pakistan was repeating that it has no role in the attack.
Dar said that it would not accept any aggression or action against Pakistan. Dar also reacted to the temporary cancellation of the Indus Water Treaty. '240 million people in Pakistan need water. You cannot stop this. This is tantamount to a war. If India threatens or attacks Pakistan, it will respond in a similar manner,' Dar said.
Meanwhile, India has followed the measures announced against Pakistan the other day. Visa procedures for Pakistani citizens have been suspended. Pakistani citizens have been asked to leave the country by April 27th . Medical visas are valid only until April 29th.
Pakistan has also come out with a response to the Indian measures. Pakistan has frozen the 1972 Simla Agreement respecting the Line of Control. Along with this, all bilateral agreements will be frozen. Indian flights have been banned from Pakistani airspace and the Wagah border has been closed. Trade transactions have been frozen. Pakistan has also asked Indian military attaches to leave the country by April 30.
