SRINAGAR: Just hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, Pakistan allegedly violated the agreement along the Jammu border, according to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. In a post shared on X, Abdullah claimed that loud explosion sounds were heard across Srinagar. News agencies have also reported that Pakistan engaged in firing and shelling at multiple locations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Taking to his social media page, Omar Abdullah questioned what had happened to the ceasefire agreement between the two countries. Reports also suggest that the Indian Air Force has thwarted an attempted drone attack by Pakistan in Udhampur.
The ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan was reached on Saturday evening. Both sides had agreed to hold military-level talks on Monday.

Meanwhile, India has affirmed that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty will continue despite the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasised that the country's efforts to combat terrorism will persist irrespective of the truce.
Following the ceasefire agreement, Pakistan reopened its airspace to Indian aircraft, which had been closed earlier in response to India's strong measures announced after the Pahalgam attack. India, in turn, had also closed its airspace to Pakistan.
