Reshuffle in BJP's Parliamentary board; Gadkari, Yogi out, brings in Yeddiyurappa

NEW DELHI: The BJP has reshuffled the parliamentary board. Senior leaders have been dropped from the party's parliamentary board, which takes crucial decisions in the BJP.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa, former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and OBC Morcha National President K Laxman are included on the board. Other members of the board are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J P Nadda, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Sudha Yadav, Satyanarayan Jatiya and BL Santosh. Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were excluded. The exclusion of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also gains political significance. The reorganization was carried out by the Central Parliamentary Board and the Central Election Committee of BJP.

The Central Election Committee was also reconstituted. Mahila Morcha national president Vanathi Srinivasan has been included in the election committee. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and Om Mathur are also included in the committee. Meanwhile, former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain and Jual Oram were dropped from the Central Election Committee.
