MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena faction led by party president CM Uddhav Thackeray suffered a major setback on Wednesday after Uddhav's elder brother Jaidev Thackeray attended the Dussehra rally held by the Shinde faction. The rally was held at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction had organised its own Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai. Speaking at the rally, Uddhav Thackeray criticized BJP and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance broke down because the BJP betrayed the Shiv Sena. "Now BJP is trying to avoid problems by making Eknath Shinde as Chief Minister. But why didn't they do it earlier? How greedy can a person be? He was given the Chief Minister post. Now, he is asking for the party," Uddhav said. Uddhav also accused Shinde of stealing his father's party.
