MUMBAI: Six passengers died tragically after falling into the railway tracks from local MEMU trains in Mumbai on Monday. The victims were those travelling from CSMT from Mumbra railway station in Thane. It is reported that overcrowding of passengers caused the tragedy. The train was packed with passengers with barely any space left for passengers to stand. It is said that almost ten passengers who were on the sidelines of the entrance fell onto the track.
Railway officials and police reached the spot soon after the incident. The injured passengers were shifted to a nearby hospital. Local train services on the Central Line were affected following the accident.
