NEW DELHI: Yesterday marked the birthday of President Droupadi Murmu. To celebrate the occasion, she visited an institute in Dehradun dedicated to empowering people with visual impairments. During the visit, a group of children sang a special song for the President as a birthday tribute.

The heartfelt performance touched President Murmu deeply, bringing tears to her eyes. She wiped her tears with a white handkerchief handed over by a security officer, after briefly removing her glasses. The emotional moment quickly went viral on social media.

Children Shivangi Chakravarthy and Subhashish Chakravarthy, who sang the song, were especially noted and appreciated. “I couldn’t hold back my tears,” said President Murmu, adding that the children sang from the heart. “God lives in the voices of children,” she remarked.

Birthday wishes from Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to the President, describing her life as an inspiration to millions. He praised her continuous efforts to empower the poor and the underprivileged.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also wished the President good health and a long life.
