Stuntman falls from 20 feet high during shoot of Karthi’s film, dies

CHENNAI: A stuntman died after falling from a height of 20 feet during the shoot of a film. The stuntman identified as Ezhumalai (54) died while shooting for Sardar 2 which has Karthi in the lead role. He died Wednesday early morning at 1.30 am.

The accident happened during the shoot of a vital fight scene. He fell from a height of 20 feet. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. He sustained head injuries and then died due to haemorrhage. The Chennai police have started an investigation. Many actors paid tributes to Ezhumalai. The fight sequences started on July 15 at L V Prasad Studio in Saligramam. The shooting has been temporarily suspended following his demise.

Sardar 2 is directed and scripted by P S Mithran. The film is produced by Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures. The first part of Sardar 2 had gathered a collection of 100 crore. G V Prakash Kumar composes music for the film. George C Williams wields camera for the film. Other casts include Chunkey Pandey, Laila, Yugi Sethu, Dinesh Prabhakar, Munish Kanth and many others.
