SRINAGAR: Instruction has reached the Indian troops to manoeuvre moves to ensure that they catch the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack alive. The Army's deftly planned search operation in the forest areas of Anantnag is aimed at the same goal.

If the mission reaches fruition, India can use the terrorists to show the world about the continuing barbaric cross-border terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan. Pakistan was on the defensive after Ajmal Kasab was captured in the Mumbai attacks. India is trying to emulate the same modus operandi to give tough times for the neighbouring nation.

Pakistan earlier sought the intervention of the United Nations fearing Indian retaliation. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that they have received clear information in this regard. An international commission can be accepted for the investigation. Pakistan has sought intervention from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Pakistan's Information Minister had also said that he had received evidence that India was planning to attack within 36 hours.

Meantime, as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the United States has asked India and Pakistan to avoid escalating the situation. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will call External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to assess the situation. The United States has also asked other friendly countries to intervene in the matter.
