THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Meta's main messaging platform, WhatsApp, is reportedly experiencing a technical glitch. It is reported that it is facing a global outage. Many people are unable to post statuses or send messages in groups on WhatsApp. According to outage tracking Down Detector, the problem started at 8.10 pm in India. A similar problem was faced last February. It was difficult to send messages through WhatsApp at that time. WhatsApp sources have not responded to the technical glitch. There are widespread complaints about the incident.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services were disrupted in the country today. WhatsApp is also facing a technical problem following this. With UPI apps down, online money transactions were disrupted. Complaints have been raised that money transfers are not being made through PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, etc. This was also reported by Downdetector, a website that tracks faults. This is the third time in a month that UPI services have been widely disrupted.
UPI services were disrupted at around 12 noon on Saturday. Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay users were unable to make UPI payments during this time. With this, some users posted this information on social media. According to the Downdetector report, 1168 complaints have been registered till noon. The reason for the UPI apps being down is not yet clear.
