THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Meta's main messaging platform, WhatsApp, is reportedly experiencing a technical glitch. It is reported that it is facing a global outage. Many people are unable to post statuses or send messages in groups on WhatsApp. According to outage tracking Down Detector, the problem started at 8.10 pm in India. A similar problem was faced last February. It was difficult to send messages through WhatsApp at that time. WhatsApp sources have not responded to the technical glitch. There are widespread complaints about the incident.

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services were disrupted in the country today. WhatsApp is also facing a technical problem following this. With UPI apps down, online money transactions were disrupted. With this, some users posted this information on social media. According to the Downdetector report, 1168 complaints have been registered till noon. The reason for the UPI apps being down is not yet clear.
