Demanded nude photos from Akshay Kumar's daughter; man arrested

MUMBAI: A man has been arrested for allegedly demanding nude photographs from the 13-year-old daughter of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. The accused reportedly harassed the minor through an online gaming platform. The Maharashtra Cyber Police tracked down and apprehended the suspect using digital surveillance.

The incident came to light after Akshay Kumar shared his daughter's traumatic experience during a cyber-awareness program held in Mumbai last October. Following the actor's revelation, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell initiated an investigation.

According to Akshay Kumar, his daughter received messages from a stranger while playing an online video game. While the conversation began politely, the individual's behaviour changed once he realised she was a girl living in Mumbai. After discussing the game for a short while, the man demanded nude pictures from her. Terrified, the girl immediately turned off the game and informed her mother.

Akshay Kumar emphasised the importance of children being open with their parents to avoid falling into such traps. He also noted that cybercrime is becoming more dangerous than street crime and urged the government to conduct weekly awareness classes in schools to educate students about digital safety. The police are currently investigating whether the accused has targeted other children using similar methods.
