
MUMBAI: In a ghastly incident, a man killed his daughter to contest the panchayat polls. The youth identified as Pandurang Kondamangale, who has three children killed one of his twin daughters. As per law in Maharashtra, a man having three children is not allowed to contest polls. In order to remove this obstacle, he drowned her in the canal.
The dead is six-year-old Prachi. His wife first delivered twin daughters. Prachi is one among them. Panchayat president Ganesh Ramachandra Shinde advised Pandurang to kill her. According to that, he brought her to Telangana and drowned her in Nizamsagar canal in Nizamabad. Seeing a body floating in the canal, the farmers informed the police.
Pandurang confessed to the crime after continuous interrogation, even though he fabricated stories to make it look like an accident. Pandurang Kondmangale is a barber from Kerur village in Nanded. He decided to kill his daughter after trying many ways to get rid of her. He first decided to give her for adoption. Later, he tried to abandon the child, but that too failed. Then, he went near the canal on his bike and pushed the child into it.
