KOCHI: Accused arrested in the case of grandmother's boyfriend forcing a 14-year-old to do drugs. Prabin Alexander, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested. The accused was arrested by the Kochi North Police. Cases have been registered under the Juvenile Justice Act for forcing the child to consume alcohol and drugs; and under the BNS Act for threatening the child. The police registered a case on the complaint of a class IX student and his mother.

The boy's mother and grandmother make a living by doing housework. The grandmother used to let her boyfriend stay at her house. When Prabin first offered him cannabis, the boy did not accept it. However, he brutally beat him and threatened him with a knife at his neck, forcing him to use cannabis. Later, he made him addicted to drugs. The 14-year-old says that Prabin even gave him hashish oil.

The child said that sometimes the friends of his grandmother's boyfriend would come to the house and use drugs. He also used the child to smuggle drugs. The fourteen-year-old's behaviour had also changed. He always spoke angrily and would also throw things.

The boy revealed all this to his friend. The friend's mother called the boy's mother and told her about it. The mother told a media outlet that she was devastated when she heard the news. They then discussed the matter at home. The 14-year-old's mother said, "My mother's boyfriend told me that he won't let us two live in peace." The woman filed a police complaint when things got out of hand. The boy is receiving counselling.
