15-year-old girl sexually abused on pretext of marriage gives birth, yuva morcha leader arrested in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: A yuva morcha local leader has been arrested for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl on the pretext of marriage. The arrested has been identified as Renjith of Anicadu in Malampuzha and an office bearer of yuva morcha Pirayiri mandalam. The case has been registered on sections including POCSO.

The girl who was sexually exploited on pretext of marriage had given birth. The girl was taken to Palakkad women’s hospital following abdomen pain. She had given birth the next day. The police started a probe on the complaint of hospital authorities and parents. In the probe conducted, the police found Renjith as the accused. The police found that he had exploited her many times.

Police said Renjith was an active Yuva Morcha activist. However, the district leadership informed that he was not active and was ousted from the BJP following the POCSO case. The accused produced in the court has been remanded.
