19-year-old held for stealing car from house in Muvattupuzha

MUVATTUPUZHA: A 19-year-old youth was arrested for stealing a car and changing its number plate and roaming around with his girlfriend. Al-Sabith of Muvattupuzha was arrested by the police from Thiruvananthapuram. Al-Sabith stole the car from a house near Charis Hospital in Muvattupuzha on July 4. He brought the car to Thiruvananthapuram, modified it and fixed a fake number plate.

He was later roaming around with his girlfriend, whom he met on Instagram. His married girlfriend has two children. Her family had filed a missing complaint at Poonthura station. The police later found her.

The youth told police that he stole the car to lead a luxurious life. An investigation team led by Muvattupuzha Police Officer Basil Thomas arrested him. The police said the accused was caught through scientific investigation.
