IDUKKI: A person was injured in a clash between youths at Thookkupaalam in Idukki's Nedunkandam at around 9 am on Thursday. The injured has been identified as Hari, a native of Kannattusseri in Balagram.

When Hari, an autorickshaw driver, was coming back after taking the children to school in the morning, Santhosh alias Kadukkan Santosh, a native of Balagram, stopped the auto and there was an argument between the two. Meanwhile, Santhosh hacked Hari with a knife he was holding in his hand. Hari fell to the ground with three cuts on his hand and was taken to a private hospital in Thookkupalam by the locals. Meanwhile, Santhosh got into the car and escaped. The police said that Santhosh is accused in a criminal case.

The preliminary conclusion is that the previous rivalry is behind the incident. Hari and Santhosh had met in Balagram town a month ago. Nedunkandam police took further action. The police also informed that a search for the accused has been launched.
