Bribe to give NOC; Three corporation employees including health inspector arrested

KOCHI: Three corporation employees, including the health inspector of the Kochi Corporation, were arrested by vigilance while accepting a bribe. Health inspector RS Madhu, junior health inspector Shanu and contingency employee John, who are employees of the health department under the 9th circle of Palluruthy regional office of Kochi municipality, were arrested under the leadership of Vigilance SP Sasidharan.

The arrest happened while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in connection with the issue of NOC for a godown of mobile devices to be started at Nambiapuram in Palluruthy. Madhu demanded Rs 50,000 from the complainant, a native of Aluva. The officials reached the spot after a complaint was lodged with the vigilance. As soon as the complainant gave the money to Madhu as per the prior understanding, the vigilance arrested him. The vigilance SP said that the trio had planned to take the bribe together.
