Case against car owner for refusing to give way to fire engine on rescue mission

ALAPPUZHA: The police have seized a car that refused to give way to a fire force vehicle, which was on a rescue mission following a fire in Thuravoor. The police have registered a case against the vehicle owner. The case was registered against Sujith of Kuthiathodu.


Sujith did not give way to the fire force vehicle going to Thuravoor from Alappuzha. He did not give way despite honking several times. Subsequently, the motor vehicles department and the police took action based on a complaint that the rescue operation was delayed. The district firefighter had filed a complaint with the police chief regarding the incident. Action was taken after examining CCTV footage. It is also reported that steps will be taken, including cancelling Sujith's license.
