KOCHI: Report that it was a prominent member of a gang that distributes hallucinogenic mushrooms known as magic mushrooms who delivered hybrid cannabis to film directors Khalid Rahman and Ashraf Hamza at their flat in Kochi. The Kozhikode native residing in Kakkanad fled after the directors were arrested. It is reported that he is in Tamil Nadu. His mobile phone is switched off. It is reported that he has not been involved in drug cases before. Most of his clients are rich. Magic mushroom is a hallucinogenic mushroom that grows in cold regions like Kodaikanal.

The excise got information about the person who delivered cannabis to the directors when they questioned the friend of Shalif Mohammed, an expatriate Malayali who was taken into excise custody along with the movie directors. This friend belongs to a very wealthy family in Ernakulam. This man was questioned in detail the other day under the leadership of the Excise Assistant Commissioner. He said that he met the Kozhikode native at a bar in Ernakulam. The man told the friend that he could give him magic mushrooms if he went to Kodaikanal, but the Ernakulam native said that he was not interested. It was this man who gave Shalif Mohammed the number of the hallucinogenic mushroom supplier.
