Disguised as police and kidnapped KP Travels Manager: Biju rescued, five accused arrested

KOZHIKODE: Police rescued a man who was kidnapped in a car by assailants disguised as police within hours. Biju, a resident of Beypore BC Road, who was kidnapped due to a dispute over financial transactions, was rescued by Kasaba police from Karuvarakundu, Malappuram.

Five people have been arrested in the case. Alappuzha Kavalam native Shyamkumar, Wayanad native Delvin Kurian, Malappuram Manjeri native Muhammed Alshid, Malappuram Karuvarakundu natives Sahalul Rahman and Junais were arrested.

Chinthavalappu KP Travels Manager Biju was abducted by a gang of three people in a car at Palayam on Wednesday morning at around 2.10 am. Following a complaint filed by a friend after Biju went missing, the Kasaba police checked the CCTV cameras and mobile phone locations in the area and found that the accused had entered Malappuram. Subsequent investigation revealed that the accused had taken Biju hostage in the Karuvarakundu area. The police arrested them in a daring raid that followed. The police also found the vehicle used to kidnap Biju. The accused were produced in court.
