Female friend killed youth in Kothamangalam, gave him paraquat, rehash of Greeshma's case

KOCHI: The police have confirmed the death of Ansil (38), son of Aliyar of Mathirappally Melethumalil in Kothamangalam, after consuming poison, as a murder. The police have clarified that his female friend Adeena poisoned him. Police said Adeena poisoned Ansil with paraquat, a herbicide. However, it is not clear in which she mixed this. Her arrest will be recorded soon.

Greeshma of Sharon Raj murder case, had also mixed paraquat in the ayurvedic tonic to kill her lover. Greeshma, convicted in the case is in jail now.

Police said Adeena committed the act to get rid of Ansil. Adeena, who was previously in a relationship with some men, including Ansil, is now in a relationship with another youth. He, who is presently in jail, will be released soon. So, in order to get rid of him, she poisoned him to death.

Adeena lives alone in a house in an isolated area. Ansil regularly visits her. She invited him to her house on July 30 and poisoned him. There are also unconfirmed reports that Ansil had once threatened her with a gun. The police have got the herbicide from the house.

Ansil died last evening while undergoing treatment at Rajagiri Hospital. While undergoing treatment, Ansil had given a statement that Adeena poisoned him. The police had received evidence of Adeena buying the poison. She was then taken into custody and questioned in detail, and after that she had confessed to the crime.

Adeena herself informed Ansil's house about it. The police who reached the spot took Ansil to the hospital. On the way, a relative also got into the ambulance. Ansil told him that she cheated him and gave him poison. This turned crucial in the case. He said that Adeena had once told Ansil's mother that she would poison her son to death.
