Husband brutally thrashes wife for not fetching liquor bottle

KOTTARAKKARA: A housewife was brutally assaulted by her husband at Iyamkunnu in Pulamon for not fetching a bottle of liquor. Biju Nair, a bank employee, brutally beat his wife Geetha. It is learned that Biju has been harassing Geetha regularly for the last five years. Geetha reported the matter to the police.

After he couldn't find the liquor bottle, Biju grabbed Geetha's head and hit it against the wall and she fell to the ground. He then kicked her. Geetha, who escaped after her husband took a knife, went to the house of councilor Pavija. The incident was reported to the police but the injured Geetha was not rushed to the hospital by the police. Kottarakkara police has registered a case against Biju.
