Just Rs 2 was sent via Google Pay but loses Rs 45,000 from account, police shocked on new technique of theft

ALUVA: An amount of Rs 45,000 was stolen from the account of an employee by those who sent a fake message to a medical firm in the name of a courier. Amal S Kumar of Kizhakke Kadungalloor and an employee of Ratnam & Company near Aluva KSRTC Stand, lost the amount.

The firm got a call on Monday at noon from the number 6287655632 saying they have a courier. They directed to fill a form and sent via WhatsApp to know the exact location. They did not suspect anything as medicines were delivered to the firm via courier. The form had the name of Faster Courier. Along with the address and mobile number, they directed to pay Rs 2 for tracking service. Received a message of withdrawing Rs 45,000 from the Aluva branch of HDFC by evening. Amal has filed a complaint with the cyber cell in Aluva and the circle inspector.
