KOCHI: Police said that Thammanam native Dominic Martin, the accused in the Kalamassery blast case, was a former expatriate. He returned to Kerala after leaving his high-paying job in the Gulf. Martin is incredibly skilled in electronics. Police said that Martin used this skill to make the bomb.

The police team collected important and crucial evidence yesterday from Martin's flat in Athani, Nedumbassery. They found remnants of materials used by Martin to make IED bombs. Items like pieces of electric wire, batteries and petrol bottles were discovered. The bomb was assembled on the flat's terrace which is next to the national highway. That's why investigators started collecting evidence there. Dominic provided details on how the bomb was made.

The apartment has four rooms on two floors. While it was rented to company workers in Kalamassery, Dominic used the room upstairs next to the stairs. He stated that it took him about half an hour to make the bombs. He then put them in two bags and took them to Kalamassery. After the explosion, he returned here and stayed briefly before going to Kodakara.
