Man in custody over suicide of wife and two daughters at Ettumanur

KOTTAYAM: The police have taken into custody a man in connection with the suicide of his wife and two daughters by jumping before a train at Parolikkal near Ettumanur. A police team led by Ettumanur SHO A S Ansal took Nobi Luckose of Thodupuzha into custody. The police are investigating whether Nobi has any role in pushing his family to suicide. He will be questioned in detail.

Nobi's wife Shiny Kuriakose (43) and her daughters Aleena Elizabeth Nobi (11) and Ivana Maria Nobi (10) committed suicide by jumping in front of a train last Friday morning. There were family issues between Shiny and her husband Nobi. Shiny was staying in her house in Parolikkal for the past nine months. On the day of the incident, Shiny and her children who said that they were going to the church at 5.25 am, were later found dead after fatally knocked down by a train.

When the bodies were brought home in Parolikkal and later to the church in Thodupuzha, there was a huge protest from the side of locals and relatives. Shiny's relatives also came forward demanding an investigation into the role of her husband and family in the incident. The family committed suicide when an investigation was underway into the complaint filed by Shiny with the Thodupuzha police following family issues.
