Massive theft in Kozhikode; gold and cash worth lakhs stolen

KOZHIKODE: Gold and cash stolen after a house break-in. The theft took place in Chevarambalam, Kozhikode. The thief took away the gold and cash kept in the cupboard of the house. 45 sovereigns of gold and ten thousand rupees were lost. The theft took place on Sunday morning.

The house was locked as Gayathri, the resident of the house where the theft took place, had been away since the 11th of this month. She had gone to Thiruvananthapuram. The theft came to light when she returned home on Sunday afternoon. CCTV footage of the accused has been released. Chevayur police have registered a case and started an investigation.

25 sovereigns of gold were stolen from a house in Parambil Bazar, within the Chevayur police limits, the other day. Another theft has been reported within the station limits while the investigation is progressing.
