BALUSSERY: Thieves dragged a migrant worker on a bike for 100 meters after he tried to stop them from stealing his mobile phone. Ali Akbar, who lives in Eyad and a native of Bihar, was dragged on a bike by thieves on Wednesday evening. Following this, Koduvalli police took Sanu Krishnan and Shamnas from Kakur into custody. The injured Ali Akbar sought treatment at Thamarassery Taluk Hospital. The injury is known to be not serious.
The two on their bike approached Ali, who was standing by the roadside, and asked for his mobile phone to make a call. The duo picked up the phone from Ali, pretended they are dialing a number, after which the bike sped off. Ali, who was holding the bike, didn't give up his hold. After realizing that the locals are following the bike, the person behind the bike jumped into the road with the mobile phone. However, he escaped without being caught by the locals. The two were arrested during a subsequent investigation.
