KOZHIKODE: Police arrested the passenger who assaulted the female TTE on the train. Rajitha, a native of Palakkad, was attacked this morning. The accused, Reru, a native of Vadakara, was arrested by the railway police. The incident took place on Mangaluru-Chennai Express.

The officer was attacked by an elderly passenger between Vadakara and Koyilandy. After taking a general ticket, he travelled in a reservation coach. When the passengers who had reserved the seat arrived, TTE asked Reru to move from the seat.

However, he did not move from his seat and slapped the TTE. When the train reached Koyilandy station, the old man again attacked the TTE while he was getting off the coach. Passengers caught the accused who shifted to the general compartment and called the railway police. The TTE, who was injured in the attack, sought treatment at Kozhikode Beach Hospital.
