Car borne gang stabs youth in Thamarassery

KOZHIKODE: A car-borne gang stabbed a youth in Thamarassery. The victim has been identified as Muhammed Jineesh of Ambayathodu in the district. The incident happened last night at 10.30 pm in Parappanpoyil, Thamarassery. The miscreants smashed the window panes of his car.

The gang that came from Kozhikode attacked Jineesh. The eyewitnesses who were there immediately rushed him to Thamarassery Taluk Hospital. After giving him primary treatment, he was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College.

One person has been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Police said Jineesh is an accused in several cases of kidnapping, financial fraud etc. He is believed to have links with drug distribution team. The police have seized the knife which he had in his hand. However, the knife the miscreants used to stab him has not been found.
