NEYYATTINKARA: A man, accused of brutally beating up his employee for asking to pay her salary and for drop in sales, has been arrested. The police registered a case against his wife.

Arun (38), a native of Panamaram in Wayanad, who sells goods at homes in Neyyatinkara, was arrested. His wife Princi (32) has not been taken into custody. Nandana (20) of Edamala house in Venmani in Wayanad was hit on the head and face. The accused also used obscene language. A colleague on Nandana captured the assault on her mobile phone, which was given as the evidence. The incident happened on Thursday night.

About twenty girls from various districts are working here at a monthly salary of Rs.12,000. Police said that Arun owes each of them Rs 80,000. The argument started following an allegation that employer's wife took money from the employee's purse.

Under the leadership of Arun, works to sell washing soap, dish wash liquid, soap etc. in homes were carried out in Irumbil in Neyyattinkara. The court remanded the accused.
