Youth held for sexually abusing woman

PATHANAMTHITTA: A youth, who sexually abused and impregnated a woman after his fake Facebook post of selling a goat, has been arrested. The Adoor police arrested Akhil Ashokan of Kannur's Taliparamba. The youth in his Facebook post had mentioned about the sale of a goat. He had also included his number in it.

A woman seeing this post had contacted Ashokan. This led to the two becoming friends, and police said Akhil went to Adoor and sexually assaulted the woman on the pretext of marrying her. The woman, a widow lives alone with her children. In the meantime, the woman became pregnant. He gave the woman contraceptive pills and tried to abort the pregnancy, but it did not work. With this, Akhil fled from there. The woman then filed a complaint with the Adoor police. Based on this, the police arrested Akhil, who was absconding.
