Woman brought dead to hospital with injury marks on body; youth in custody

PALAKKAD: A 45-year-old youth has been taken into custody in connection with the death of a woman. A 40-year-old woman was found in a weak condition in the Palakkad Stadium bus stand area around 8:30 last night. Seeing her, the youth took her to the Palakkad District Hospital. By the time they reached the hospital, she was dead.

The youth’s statement was that the woman was found lying in an empty field near the Palakkad Stadium stand area. However, the police said that his statement is not clear as he was drunk. The youth taken into custody is presently being questioned. Police said there were injuries on her head and body. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the district hospital.
