Woman drowns 27-year-old sick daughter, commits suicide in Edappal

MALAPPURAM: A woman committed suicide after drowning her cerebral palsy affected daughter to death in Edappal. The dead are Anitha Kumar of Manoor and her 27-year-old daughter Anjana. The two were found dead Wednesday morning. Initial reports said Anitha Kumari drowned her in the drum filled with water at home and then ended her life by hanging from a nearby tree.

The Kuttippuram police and forensic experts reached the spot and have started an investigation. The police have found that Anitha Kumari had slit her wrist using a blade. The murder was committed when her son went for work. He is an employee of a private hospital in Edappal. Anitha Kumari's husband died a few months ago. She was in depression after that. Police said Anitha Kumari was disturbed about her daughter’s illness as she was not getting proper treatment.
