Youth beats mother-in-law to death in Pathanamthitta

PATHANAMTHITTA: A youth beat his mother-in-law to death with a spade at the end of a verbal dispute. The incident happened in Vechoochira. The dead is Ushamani of Vechoochira. She was 54. The police have taken her son-in-law Sunil (38) into custody.

Sunil was estranged from his wife for about four years. Sunil believed that Ushamani was the reason for it. A verbal dispute broke out over this. Sunil reached Ushamani's house this afternoon. Soon, an argument broke out between the two, which escalated into a fight and in a fit of rage, Sunil murdered her after hitting her head with a spade.
