Youth hacked to death by neighbour while visiting wife's house

KATTAPPANA: A youth who came to his wife's house was hacked to death by a neighbour with an axe. Kalappuraykkal Subin Francis (35), a resident of Kanchiyar Kakkattukada, died. The incident took place yesterday evening in Kattappana Suvarnagiri. Subin came here to meet his pregnant wife Libia.

When Subin reached his wife's house, an argument occurred between him and his neighbour Babu, which resulted in a conflict. Enraged Babu chopped Subin with an axe. Family members and local residents rushed Subin to a private hospital in Kattappana but his life could not be saved. The reason for the altercation is not clear.

Babu was a drug addict and was hiding at home after the incident. Babu also attacked the police team that came to arrest him. Grade SI Udayakumar of Kattappana police station got injured in the attack. Then the accused was subdued by force. The police have received many complaints against the suspect who often behaves violently. Subin, who was killed, is a wiring electrical worker.
