‘Aavesham’ model birthday party in Thrissur again; 32 including 16 school students held

THRISSUR: The police took into custody 32 people who gathered to celebrate the birthday of a goonda leader, replica to Aavesham model. The leader's associates and fans were arrested. 16 of them are minors. The police released them along with their parents after warning them.


Precautionary arrest was registered against the remaining 16 people, including those with criminal background. As police reached the spot before the party started, the gangster fled without reaching Thekkinkadu Maithanam where the party was arranged. The incident happened near the Thekke Gopuranada last afternoon.

Their aim was to shoot the video of the gangster cutting the cake and circulate it as a reel through Instagram. Reels of another gangster released from jail cutting a cake was circulated earlier. Many students, fans of the leader, had attended the party then.

The preparations at Thekkinkadu Maithanam were taken into account the news importance that would be gained if the party was held near the police station. Followers sent a message through social media to reach Thekke Gopuranada last afternoon. After receiving the information, the police started observing the maidanam.

When the youngsters gathered there, the police came in four jeeps, surrounded the maidanam and took them into custody. They were not able to even cut the cake. After the arrival of aides and fans, the gangster's intention was to arrive in filmy style. He fled when his aides were caught.
