Youth held in Kozhikode for trying to kidnap child returning from madrassa

KOZHIKODE: A complaint has been lodged against a youth for trying to kidnap a 12-year-old boy. The incident happened at Payyanakkal in Kozhikode. Sinan Ali of Kasaragod, who came in a stolen car, tried to kidnap the boy. The locals stopped him and handed him over to the Panniyankara police. He is being questioned in detail.

The incident happened Wednesday morning at around 10 am. Sinan Ali tried to take the boy, who was going home from the madrassa, in his car. The child refused to get into the car. Seeing this, a nearby auto driver became suspicious and stopped the car. Later, an investigation by the locals understood that the car did not belong to him. Sinan Ali admitted that he had stolen the car parked near the Kozhikode Beach Hospital. The locals also seized drugs from him.
