Youth kills mother-in-law with a hammer in Attingal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth killed his mother-in-law after hitting her head with a hammer. The incident happened at Attingal in the capital city. The dead is Preetha (50) staying in Renuka Apartments at Karichi in Attingal. The police took into custody her son-in-law identified as Anil Kumar (40) of Mangalathu Veettil in Varkala.

It is heard that a dispute over family issues led to the murder. Anil was not in good terms with his wife. Anil, who reached his wife’s house last night, attacked his in-laws with the hammer he had in his hand. Preetha’s husband Babu, an employee of KSRTC, has been admitted in the hospital with injuries. Charges of murder and attempt of murder have been imposed on him.

Man arrested for stabbing wife, son
The police arrested a man for stabbing his wife, a soft engineer of Infosys and his son, in Pongumoodu last night. Anjana (39) staying in a rented house at Bapuji Nagar in Pongumoodu and her son Aryan (10) were stabbed. It was her husband Umesh Unnikrishnan Nambeesan (44), who attacked the two.

The Sreekaryam Police said family issues led him to commit the attack. The inured Anjana has been admitted at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and her son at the SAT Hospital. Both were subjected for a surgery and they are out of danger.
