‘Got angry for coming late’; woman thrashed in Kochi by fiancé and friends

KOCHI: A woman was brutally thrashed in Kochi early Thursday morning. It has been reported that she was attacked by her fiancé and his friends. The woman told police that a dispute for coming late resulted in the attack. The police have registered a case against her fiancé and his friends. The four are likely to be arrested soon.

The incident happened Wednesday morning at 4.30 am. She was first attacked on Janata Road adjacent to Sahodaran Ayyappan Road to Kadavanthra from Vyttila.

The attack continued even after she screamed. The CCTV visuals of the incident had surfaced. After seeking medical treatment, she complained to the police. The case was taken for attacking her.

The youth who attacked her is her relative. Their marriage was fixed. The woman running a beauty parlour reached the place at 4 am where they stay. The youth beat her when she was talking on the phone. Seeing this, some in the area intervened, but both of them said that there was no problem and walked towards Janata Road. The footage of the ensuing attack has emerged.

The police reached the spot after being informed by the neighbors. The police met the woman and the youths at the place where the attack happened. However, she told police that has no complaint. After reaching the hospital and seeking treatment, she filed the complaint.
