KOCHI: Rapper Vedan responded to the doctor’s complaint of sexual abuse on the pretext of marriage. While talking to the media, Vedan said the new complaint was a planned move and that he would proceed legally. The aim is to defame him and would file an anticipatory bail plea and will soon approach the high court, adding there is evidence for the doctor's planned move.
The Thrikkakara police registered a case against Vedan last night. The doctor in her complaint said that he had abused after taking her to various places on the pretext of marriage and later he withdrew from the relationship. The woman said Vedan sexually abused her five times and continued the act under the influence of drugs also. The complainant told police that she had handed over Rs 31,000 to Vedan on several occasions. A case has been registered against him under Section 376 (2) (n) of the IPC. The complainant has stated that he took her to various places from August 2021 to March 2023 and abused her.
Vedan withdrew from the relationship after abusing her continuously. The complainant told police that Vedan's decision had mentally weakened her and that she had not filed a complaint as she was afraid of how people would react. MeToo allegations and complaints were earlier levelled against Vedan. The FIR was registered last night.
Vedan and the complainant became friends via Instagram. Vedan then visited her flat in Kozhikode. It was there Vedan first abused the woman. He later continued the act several times in Kozhikode and Kochi. She said that he had been avoiding her from 2023.
