KOTTAYAM: Who is discussing about the change of front and no one should shed tears for us, said Kerala Congress (M) chairman Jose K Mani said. While talking to the media, he said the Kerala Congress stands firmly with the Left.
‘My father's friend is undergoing treatment in the ICU in Dubai. I could not attend the CPM’s function as I had gone to visit him with my family. I had informed the chief minister about it. All the MLAs of the Kerala Congress had attended the function. Wherever the Kerala Congress is, there will be government. The Kerala Congress is with the Left. Out stand is firm. Discussions on whether we have changed here or there are irrelevant.
I have not attended all meetings of the front. Instead, representatives were there. There is no need to hold discussions. Many are inviting us to join their fronts and this is because we have that much importance. There will be various opinions in the political system, but the final decision will be that of the party,' Jose K Mani clarified. Minister V N Vasavan had called Jose K Mani on the phone in the wake of the press conference.
The news of shifting front intensified after congress leader Sonia Gandhi directly called Jose K Mani and requested him to return to the UDF. There were reports that Jose K Mani had put forward the condition of wanting old seats including Pala, back. Meanwhile, Minister Roshy Augustine and Pramod Narayan MLA had come forward to clarify their stand. Both of them wrote on Facebook that they will remain in the Left.
